The one and only AR Maglock Gen 4 and Kingpin system. Gen 4 gives you adjustability for non milspec receivers but also functions perfectly with milspec receivers. Comes with a Black Kingpin.
The Gen 4 benefits:
– New set screw on locking arm, allowing for adjustment to ANY receiver width including billet, composite, or 80% non mil-spec receivers.
– Allows for “free state” adjustment when traveling outside California. Just reset the set screw to the end of the post and the locking arm will work just like an OEM magazine release button.
The KingPin benefits:
– Retain your critically important bolt catch
– Seamless double feed clearing
– Bolt hold back on last round
– Fast magazine changes (as fast as OEM mag release button)

Since all AR’s are not the same, I found myself having to figure out how to make the kingpin work since the spring was too long for my weapon. I would either have to shave off some of the surface of the lower or get a shorter spring. I went to the hardware store and got a spring and cut it in half to make the upper and lower able to separate. I was able to make it work so at least now I have a California compliant AR I can finally take out to the range again. At least until the law changes again.
Pin was too short, lever did fit correctly, I damaged the pin on the lever trying to put it on correctly. Waste OS my money, now I have to figure out how to modify the lever to actuate the mechanism properly
We reached out to this customer the same day the review was posted to offer installation assistance, as he had not contacted us directly beforehand.
The issue described (pin too short, lever not fitting correctly, and damage to the lever) occurred because the detent and spring were left in place during installation. There is a clear warning sticker on the front of the packaging that explicitly instructs customers not to install any detent or spring with the Kingpin PAL.
Unfortunately, the customer was not receptive to the guidance provided.
